Many students forced online during the Covid-19 crisis had academic, family, and personal needs that we did not anticipate. Often the sudden burden was the worst on those who were already suffering from the most social injustices.
Furthermore, some students lacked a very basic resource for online learning--adequate internet access.
Unfortunately, there are few best practices for these situations. No one knows what to do.
This class will discuss our experiences and our students' experiences. We hope to generate at least a few useful, flexible strategies that can assist our students if and when similar crises occur in the future.
